About MakanKita
Good food deserves to be found.
Across Malaysia, neighbourhood food businesses serve meals people return to year after year. Some are familiar restaurants. Others are family-run kopitiams, small stalls or street-food businesses discovered through friends and neighbours. MakanKita exists to help more people find them.
Starting in Klang Valley, one neighbourhood at a time.
Starting close to home
We are building a neighbourhood food directory, starting in Klang Valley and growing one neighbourhood at a time. Listings will grow gradually; we do not yet cover every food business or every area.
For diners: find your next local favourite
Discover neighbourhood food businesses and read practical details before visiting. Look at the individual outlet or stall for its food suitability and available information. Check directly with the business when opening hours, ingredients or accessibility matter to your visit.
For food businesses: become easier to discover
Independent restaurants, kopitiams, stalls and multi-outlet businesses all have a place here. Businesses can express interest in being listed. MakanKita staff can help collect information and create a profile during a venue visit, so being less familiar with technology need not keep a business out of the directory.
Clear information, with room for corrections
We distinguish directory listings from participating loyalty outlets. Food suitability belongs to a specific outlet or stall, rather than every business sharing the same venue. Information can change; tell us through Support if a detail needs correcting.
SupportReward local, where loyalty is available
At participating outlets, an eligible purchase can earn a stamp after authorised staff confirm the visit. Each outlet sets its reward terms. Opening a page or joining the waitlist does not earn a stamp, and a directory listing does not automatically offer loyalty rewards.
